DESCRIPTION:About this course\n“Good tactics can save even the worst strate
gy. Bad tactics will destroy even the best strategy.” -George S. Patton\n
 Course Overview  Interdiction is widely taught across the country.&nbsp\;
Various classes teach on this topic\, whether learning “The Drive” or empl
oying a high volume of stops. &nbsp\;However\, the “tactics” to keep the i
nterdiction officer safe are constantly overlooked or rarely highlighted.&
nbsp\; STOPS Tactical Criminal Interdiction is a training program that str
esses proactive officers’ safety\, giving them a foundation for success in
the interdiction world.\nSTOPS Tactical Criminal Interdiction focuses on
tactics the proactive officer should utilize when seeking the criminal ele
ment. &nbsp\;We have developed a tactical course that breaks the stop/cont
 act into three parts: the beginning\, middle\, and end of contact. &nbsp\;
Using these concentrated training areas\; we can identify where tactics ne
ed to override habit\, routine\, and complacency. &nbsp\;While taking drug
s\, guns\, and criminals off our roads is pivotal to interdiction\, it is
more important to get home to loved ones at the end of the shift. &nbsp\;T
his course outlines practical and easy-to-implement tactics to employ when
hunting down criminals in your jurisdiction. &nbsp\;With a combination of
classroom and outdoor instruction\, this course will cover the rapid asse
ssment needed to categorize a traffic stop properly. &nbsp\;We will highli
ght several tactics taught in the STOPS program\, including an in-depth br
eakdown of Unknown Risk Stops. &nbsp\;Using these proven tactics can accen
tuate the ability to read verbal and non-verbal cues of criminal activity.
&nbsp\;While this is not a class covering specifics of a roadside intervi
ew or hidden compartments\, it is an overview of interdiction\, where to e
mploy it\, and the differences between street and highway interdiction. &n
bsp\;Tactics taught here work in either application.\nWhat will the studen
t learn?\n\nApproach patterns on a traffic stop with emphasis on the passe
nger-side approach.\nWalk-Back and Walk-Thru patterns used taught in STOPS
  Unknown-Risk techniques.\nHow to determine between a Low-Risk and Unknown

be required to do?\n\nThe student will learn from a structured PowerPoint
in the classroom covering facts and outlines of tactics to be employed lat
er in outdoor/field training. &nbsp\;There will be a breakdown of several
vital videos showing why these tactics are necessary for successful interd
iction.\nThis course combines classroom and outdoor activities to keep the
student engaged and interested in learning concepts to enhance their abil
ity to seek out the criminal element\, quickly identify it\, and be prepar
ed if a lethal force encounter occurs\n\nCourse Breakdown\nTrain Hard * Tr
ain to Win\nCourse Intensity The content and pace of this course will be c
hallenging for most students. &nbsp\;Some videos in this course may shock
those with a more sensitive conscience.\nPhysically Demanding This course’
s style combines classroom lectures and outdoor practical applications\; t
he student must successfully demonstrate the ability to escape from ambush
zones.\nMentally Challenging Seeking out the criminal that has masked him
self within the general innocent motoring public is not easy. &nbsp\;Condu
cting rapid assessments of violators while also staying tactical is challe

ts will analyze situations represented in videos and reach conclusions abo
ut safer tactics to use while conducting interdiction stops.\nCore Buildin
g Proactive officers engage in traffic stops daily. &nbsp\;Now\, more than

DESCRIPTION:About this course\n“Be extremely subtle\, even to the point of
formlessness. Be extremely mysterious\, even to the point of soundlessness
. Thereby\, you can be the director of the opponent's fate.” - Sun Tzu\nCo
urse Overview \nAmbush assaults on Law Enforcement have risen drastically
in the last several years.&nbsp\; Ambush assaults are also related to Acti
ve Shooter incidents statistics\, which show an even more significant incr
ease in recorded incidents in the previous several years.&nbsp\; These sta
ts are even more alarming when we consider the degree of injury and the to
tal number of victims when the assailant has the advantage of choosing the
location\, terrain\, timing\, and weapon of choice for their attack.&nbsp
\; &nbsp\;\nIn our search for continuous development of the most advanced
and cutting-edge training in law enforcement\, we encountered this increas
ed area of assault on officers. As we do with all of our training\, we wen
t directly to the officers involved\, studied their incidents\, and saw a
need to develop a new course focusing on how to counter ambush-style assau
lts on law enforcement. Tactical Counter Ambush for Wooden Terrian (8hr)&n
bsp\; is the first course derived from our findings.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nThis c
ourse covers paramilitary and law enforcement tactics for identifying\, re
acting to\, countering\, engaging\, and defeating threats. All the modules
will enhance the officer's ability to perceive threats\, evaluate vulnera
bilities before they are exploited\, and act as individuals or ad hoc team
s under fire.&nbsp\;\nLow-light training\, both with visible light and nig
ht vision\, is available with prior coordination.\nWhat will the student l
earn?\n\nIntroduction to terrain evaluation related to possible ambush.\nT
hreat assessment based on environmental concerns\nMovement and movement te
chniques in and through rough terrain.\nCommunication skills based on the
environment.\nReact to Contact &amp\; Counter- Ambush drills.\nTactical th
reat engagement techniques.\nIntroduction to Patrolling techniques for amb
ush mindset.\nEmployment of Patrol Rifle for Applied Marksmanship (Dry Fir
e).\nReport writing &amp\; courtroom testimony for ambush incidents
.\n\nW
hat will the student be required to do?\n\nDemonstrate an understanding of
maneuver principles (classroom and practicals on terrain).\nAssess risks
and threat cues by both persons and natural terrain.\nDemonstrate proficie
ncy in coordinating movements with assigned communications equipment.\nPhy
sically move using tactical individual movement techniques situations.\nDi
splay proficiency in dry fire rifle shooting from field positions while st
 anding\, supported\, kneeling\, and prone.\n\nCourse Breakdown\nTrain Hard
  * Train to Win\nCourse Intensity The content and pace of this course will
be challenging for most students. Some content may shock those with a mor
e sensitive conscience.\nPhysically Demanding This course combines lecture
s\, tabletop drills\, and outdoor practical applications. The outdoor prac
ticals require physical exertion while making fast movements across natura
l terrain. Students are required to run to their chosen cover/concealment
location while being pushed mentally and physically. Outdoor training will
take place even in inclement weather.\nMentally Challenging The student w
ill be challenged mentally to conduct rapid assessments of the environment
and people while being required to move and remain physically tactical. T
his will be very challenging for some students who lack shooting skills wh
ile moving.\nCore BuildingThey will leave with a superior skill set to ide
ntify potential threat indicators\, react to the threat\, and take back th
e tactical initiative to stop the threat and protect the public and each o
ther! This revised mental and physical skill set gives the officer a tacti
cal approach to their call responses. If the officer applies his newly lea
rned tactics to his tour of duty\, he will be a better lead for his shift
and agency.\n\nStudent Take Away\n\n A tactical skill set needed for warra
nt service and unknown risk calls in rural terrain. \n Tactics\, if implem
ented\, will position officers for less risk of ambush when responding to
calls in rural settings. \n Proven techniques to tactically counter ambush
attempts and techniques to engage active shooter incidents with a defeat-
the-threat mindset. \n Mastery of basic drills for individuals &amp\; team
s necessary for mental and physical survival in an intermediate-range enga
 gement. \n\nCourse Accreditation/Certification/Completion\n\nThe student w
ill receive a certificate of course completion and proficiency upon reques
 t. \n\nCourse Hours\n\n(1 day) 8-hour course.\nNo Re-certification is requ
ired.\n\nRequired Course Equipment\nAttending students will need to be enr
olled individually and online.&nbsp\; The student must provide proof of em
ployment by credentials\, work-verified email\, or authorization from thei
r agency’s training coordinator.&nbsp\; All students must be on duty and n
ot forced to attend the training course.&nbsp\; Students will be required
to complete several liability waivers.\nStudents are required to bring the
following equipment with them to class.\n\nDuty Weapon. &nbsp\;Duty posit
ioning of their weapon\, either full belt or side holster\, must be what t
hey wear daily. &nbsp\;This training is for how they encounter assailants
 daily\, so uniform of the day (weapon placement only) is required. &nbsp\;
 \nPatrol carbine/ rifles\nIndividual First Aid Kit/tourniquet.\nDress for
outdoor tactical training in comfortable clothing that will get dirty and
possibly damaged&nbsp\;\nOSHA-approved Eye and ear protection\,if Simms is
being used during this course of instruction. &nbsp\;&nbsp\;\n\n**No live
weapons\, chemical agents\, or intermediate weapons are allowed in the tr
aining area before inspection and clearance by the range safety instructor
